What I Wore: The Spring Thaw

What I Wore Smythe, Joe Fresh, Etsy, Old Navy

There were a few days earlier this month when temperatures seemed to warm up, right after ground hog day, just when we realized we were still in for six more weeks of winter, and that inspired me to start thinking about what we’ll be wearing come spring thaw.

First things first, this Smythe walking coat which I’m wearing in an oh so matchable camel colour. I adore the delicate linen blend it’s made from as well as the slouchy structure which is perfect for layering a sweater under on cooler spring days. It kind of makes me feel like I’m Diane Keaton in Annie Hall (minus the hat), yet modernized in way that makes a more wearable update on a classic trench.

I’ve paired it optimistically for warmer weather with one of Joe Fresh’s standard silk button downs in a cobalt stripe which is perfect to take from day to night by adding a chunky necklace. On the bottom I’m wearing a pair of Old Navy waxed jeans, which I thought were a wee bit too chilly for winter, because of their crinkly texture, making them my go to pant for spring. And finally the accessories, further channelling Annie Hall, with these Moscot Eisen Sunglasses in an exquisite tortoise, as well as a pair of vintage braided leather pumps I found on Etsy, which as you know from previous posts is my go-to place to find cute vintage shoes in my size.I actually found these pumps from a local Etsy seller, who lived so close to me I was able to pick them up, which saved me the cost of shipping. My bag is an oversized faux leather one I found while down at Austin City Limits back in October from one of their vintage sellers in their marketplace. Austin has an amazing vintage scene, and I can’t wait to share more of the amazing spring pieces I found while down there with you in the coming weeks.
