Among the list of extensive features on KAYTRANADA’s highly acclaimed, Juno and Polaris Music Prize-winning debut album, 99.9%, is a name you may not be familiar with – Shay Lia.
The unknown Montreal-based singer (originally from Djibouti) lent her voice on one of the closing tracks of the album, titled “LEAVE ME ALONE.” Now crafting her own debut full-length project, she’s asked for the assistance of KAYTRA, who in turn recruited his friends and frequent collaborators BADBADNOTGOOD to produce a beautiful instrumental. The production sets the stage perfectly for Shay to display her emotive vocals.
