Local Natives kicked off their SUNLIT YOUTH Tour in Toronto to the reception of a sold-out Danforth Music Hall on Thursday night. It’s been over three years since the LA indie rockers stepped foot in our city and you could tell by the excitement levels.

Bursting in with “Past Lives,” the energy and musical effort filled the room (also, one of the more impressive light engineering we’ve seen in a while). They covered a wide array of material from all three albums but focused mostly on the new album, which translated well to the audience. “Sun Hands” was fitting set closer – folk guitars giving way the band’s heaviest jam-like section yet.
