Father John Misty has shared another new track, “Ballad of the Dying Man.”
Taken from his forthcoming album Pure Comedy, the track takes a punch at the state of humanity over a sorrowful piano juxtaposed underneath his signature satirical lyrics: “Eventually the dying man takes his final breath/But first checks his newsfeed to see what he’s about to miss.” The track is embellished with such a finely crafted outro, you’ll forget all about the snarky lyrics by the end of it.
