As we head quickly past fall and into the holiday season, it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll be celebrating. Welcome to bubbly season!

This week in our cocktail hour series we thought we’d start with the simplest of sparkling beverages, you can easily make for a couple friends or a large gathering. These bevies look particularly pretty on a platter in a gold rimmed coupe or champagne flute, and don’t hesitate to toss a few fresh cranberries on a cocktail pick to add that little bit of festive flare.

If you’re already making cocktails at home, chances are you already have the ingredients in your bar to make one of these delicious things. All you’ll need is aromatic bitters (really any bitters), sugar cubes, grapefruit or orange rind, and your favourite bottle of sparkling wine or cava.

If you’ve yet to try one of these, we’re certain they’ll become a regular favourite.

INGREDIENTS

3 Dashes Aromatic Bitters
1 Sugar Cube
Champagne
Citrus Rind

METHOD

Place sugar cube in the base of a coupe or champagne flute. Dash aromatic bitters on top until sugar cube is saturated and top with champagne. Garnish with orange or grapefruit coil and enjoy.
